Business Coverage

The Policies Most Businesses Need

Landlords, general contractors and customers often require proof of insurance before you can sign a lease or start a job. We make sure the coverage matches the contract, then issue certificates of insurance when you need them.

Coastal property has its own rules. Many carriers exclude wind in the first-tier coastal counties, so we coordinate a separate windstorm policy when your business needs one.

  • General LiabilityThird-party injury and property damage claims, including the coverage most leases and contracts require.

  • Workers' CompensationCoverage for employee injuries. Texas doesn't require it for most private employers, but many contracts do.
  • Commercial AutoCompany vehicles, hired and non-owned auto, and fleets.

Questions

Commercial Insurance FAQ

What does my landlord mean by “additional insured”?

Many leases require the landlord to be added to your general liability policy so they're protected if a claim involves your space. We add the endorsement and send your landlord a certificate showing it.

How fast can I get a certificate of insurance?

Once your policy is active, we issue certificates for landlords, general contractors and customers as you need them. Send us the holder's name and address and any wording the contract requires.

Do I need workers' comp in Texas?

Most private employers in Texas aren't required to carry it, but many general contractors and government contracts require it. We'll walk you through the trade-offs for your business.

Can you insure a business that was turned down elsewhere?

Often, yes. Beyond standard carriers, we work with specialty markets for harder-to-place risks like roofing, vacant buildings and bars.
